Plush Spa Bedroom Refresh: How to Create a Spa-like Sanctuary in Your Bedroom

‍We all need an escape from the stresses of everyday life occasionally. While daily spa visits would be wonderful, they're not practical for most of us.

The solution? Transform your bedroom into a relaxing, spa-inspired retreat at home. With just a few thoughtful updates, you can create a peaceful oasis to unwind at the end of each day.

Here are our tips to give your bedroom a luxurious, spa-like ambiance:

Layer Textures

Textiles are key for a sumptuous feel. Invest in high-quality soft white sheets. Layer your bed with a thick duvet, plush blankets, and plenty of pillows in soothing shades. Hang lightweight, sheer curtains and place a plush area rug to sink your feet into.

Set the Mood with Lighting

Ditch harsh overheads in favor of ambient lighting. Install dimmers, or use lamps with soft, warm bulbs placed around the room. Scatter candles to create a calming, flickering glow.

Bring the Outdoors In

Incorporating living plants can instantly energize and freshen up your space. Add lush, potted greenery around the room or a magnolia branch in a large vase.

Add Plush Seating

No spa sanctuary is complete without a delightfully cozy place to curl up and relax. Create an inviting reading nook by positioning a plush, overstuffed chair in a corner of the room. Surround it with a soft area rug, an ottoman to put your feet up, and a conveniently placed side table for books and tea. This comfy corner will quickly become your favorite spot to unwind. If you have plenty of extra space, consider incorporating a serene seating area with a plush slipcovered sofa and chairs.

Incorporate Natural Materials

Many spa and wellness spaces utilize natural materials like wood, rattan, bamboo or stone to establish an earthy, calming vibe. Look for nightstands or dressers made from those organic materials to further enhance the spa aesthetic.
